Incident no 20. Errington Woods (Rescue)

Ambulance Control (NEAS) called us to help with the rescue of a crashed mountain biker. The Incident was in Errington Woods, New Marske. On the way there we were informed by Ambulance control that the Police chopper was also attending. The young man had suffered injuries that required him to be evacuated on a stretcher. He was about 200m into the wood, Team members and ambulance crew worked together to evacuate him to the waiting police helicopter. The Chopper then delivered the casualty to James Cook. There were 21 of us who responded and the Incident lasted just over an hour.
