This came from Ambulance control (NEAS)
and was to go to the rescue of a young girl in a wooded area near Liverton
Mines. the young lady had sustained lower leg injuries and was unable to walk. The Cleveland Police chopper with 3 of us on board spotted her from the air.The chopper then landed in a field about a quarter of a mile away, and our advanced party went to the casualty. The terrain however precluded a vertical raise and a chopper winch, so we had a long and arduous carry to the County Ambulance.
There were 20 of us on this one which lasted four and a half hours.
