13th June. 21-30hrs
North York’s Police called us to search in the Sheep wash area for a missing 85 year old walker. We searched the forestry around the reservoir, called in a SARDA dog from Swaledale Team, used a police dog and called in the fire service for a search of the reservoir. We also called in Scarborough and Swaledale Team to arrive at first light on the 14th bearing in mind the age of the missing person.
At 01-30 one of our search parties made a find on a track just outside the forestry. The walker had sustained minor head injuries and we evacuated him off the hill to a County Ambulance. A large search in which many different agencies co-operated very well.
There were 23 of Cleveland on this search which lasted four and a half hours.
